I just tried the: yum -y update; curl -O https://centminmod.com/betainstaller-latest.sh && chmod 0700 betainstaller-latest.sh && bash betainstaller-latest.sh

I could be wrong but it seems there's some package URL issues with NGINX, PHP and CSF? Is there a guide on best practice to update the installer and/or packages?

seems solely related to nginx missing it's nginx tarball tar.gz edit: actually php tarball download is missing too, seems your install failed to download some tarball (.tar.gz) that centmin mod requires.

Just tested a fresh CentOS 7 123.09beta01 install using betainstaller-latest.sh installer and worked fine on my end. So issue is something unique to your virtualbox install run for centmin mod.

I figured it would be something specific to my machine or there would be someone else talking about it.

I tried install again this time running through a terminal logged in directly as root (instead of through GUI -> terminal -> sudo to root) still same problems.

Tarball for nginx seems to be there but I don't see PHP. For some reason nginx doesn't seem to be extracting.

Previously when I used centmin.sh to "update" PHP and nginx that seemed to work but I was left without csf.

I have been tempted to just sign up for Vultr and give this a go but it'd be nice to have a local machine with a similar server set up to develop and test on.

Also downloading CentOS 6 to try that.

best to save the install log after each attempt so we have something to work with for troubleshooting

also try standard betainstaller.sh instead of betainstaller-latest.sh to rule out specific issues with betainstaller-latest.sh

you can also double check on failed initial installs, run centmin.sh menu option 4 to manual recompile nginx and see what happens - a separate /root/centminlogs log named nginx_upgrade would be created that you can check to see what happens during nginx compile routines

You read my mind. I figured if I just installed (updated) PHP and nginx through options 4 and 5 and it worked that would be all I need for local dev.

Both installed fine that way and so far it looks like option 22 worked. Will do some more testing and see if anythings broken.
